Carter Lonsberry

Carter Lonsberry, a more than 25-year veteran of the medical device industry, was named Executive Director of C4UHC in October 2025. Throughout his career, he has worked closely with surgeons, perioperative leaders, and healthcare systems across the United States.

As Executive Director, Lonsberry focuses on advancing C4UHC’s mission to promote the adoption of the ANSI Standard for a streamlined healthcare credentialing process. He is responsible for engaging stakeholders, expanding industry collaboration, and providing strategic leadership with a focus on growing membership.

Lonsberry’s career has focused on complex procedural specialties including orthopedics and the spine, providing firsthand insight into the operational relationship between hospital teams and industry personnel within surgical environments.

Over the course of his career, Lonsberry held roles with leading medical device companies including Synthes, Medtronic, and NuVasive, supporting surgeons and hospital teams in the use of advanced implant systems and procedural technologies. Early in his career he worked alongside surgeons associated with the AO Foundation, where the organization’s culture of patient-first surgical decision-making and clinical precision strongly influenced his perspective on the role of industry in healthcare. That patient-centered approach continues to shape his work today.

Lonsberry later became the owner of Highland Medical Products, a medical device distributorship supporting surgeons and hospitals with specialized orthopedic and spine technologies.

He subsequently served as CEO of Icotec Medical, where he helped introduce carbon fiber spinal implant technology to the United States for spine oncology applications. During his tenure, the company received designation under the FDA Breakthrough Devices Program and pursued the New Technology Add‑on Payment pathway to support hospital access to innovative treatment options for patients with spinal tumors.

Through decades of experience working alongside surgical teams, Lonsberry has developed a strong interest in the operational interface between hospital teams and non-hospital personnel who support procedural care.

He is the owner of Hospital Rep Safety Solutions (HRSS), a federally listed Patient Safety Organization (PSO No. P0199), which focuses on identifying system-level risks and workflow challenges associated with non-hospital personnel participating in procedural environments, instrumentation logistics, and case coordination.

Lonsberry also supports initiatives focused on education, competency development, and standards alignment related to the participation of non-hospital personnel within healthcare facilities. His work centers on improving operational clarity, supporting hospital governance frameworks, and strengthening patient safety in complex procedural environments.
